spa I. PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) is a perennial herbaceous plant that typically blooms from April to June each year. Its petals slightly resemble those of a lily but are more vibrant, coming in colors such as deep red, bright red, orange, and more.

agriculture II. GROWING AND CARE TECHNIQUES

1. Temperature

Amaryllis grows best at temperatures between 18 and 25°C. In summer, temperatures should not exceed 32°C — move the plant indoors or to a well-ventilated area when it gets too hot. In winter, it cannot tolerate temperatures below 5°C; otherwise the plant will enter dormancy.

2. Humidity

Normal indoor humidity levels are sufficient for healthy growth. Both excessively humid and excessively dry conditions are detrimental to the plant. Keep the soil consistently moist with even watering, but never allow water to pool at the bottom of the pot, as this can cause root rot.

3. Fertilizing

Amaryllis loves fertilizer. During the growing season, fertilize every two weeks. Stop fertilizing when the plant begins to flower. Once the flowers have faded, resume fertilizing with mainly phosphate and potassium. Repot once a year, applying calcium phosphate as a base fertilizer when doing so.
