After a heavy storm, your bonsai garden can look like it just survived a battle: pots knocked over, branches snapped everywhere, soil soaked through. Getting the first step wrong can push an already-weakened tree past the point of no return, sometimes weeks after it looked like it had stabilized.

Assess the damage before you touch anything
